Is my child psychic or just sensitive? As a professional psychic intuitive, I have been asked this question by thousands of parents and grandparents over the years.
How do you know if your child is psychic or just has a creative mind? Here are some questions to answer about your child or teen: 1) Is my child or teen afraid of the dark because they feel or see spirits? 2) Does my child seem to know “things” without any previous knowledge? 3) Is my child highly sensitive to their surrounds, people and food? If you answered yes to any of these questions…YOUR CHILD IS PSYCHIC!
We are all born with intuitive senses that help guide us through life. Intuition is our gut instinct that lets us know something is happening or about to happen without any type of reasoning. For example, how does a tiger know when their newborn cub is in danger? We call this animal instincts, right? People have the same instincts, such as when a mother knows instinctively something is wrong with her child.
Some people are born with extra-intuitive senses or what I call psychic abilities. Many children are born with these natural abilities and immediately trust their inner voice and knowledge.
Last year a 6 year old boy from Boca Raton told his mother during bedtime, “grandma is going to die in 21 days.” The boy grabbed his chest and said “she can’t breathe.” A moment later he rolled over and went to sleep. In exactly 21 days later, his grandmother died from her lung collapsing. This grandmother did not have any previous history of lung issues, and actually she was very healthy, so how did this boy know?
If you feel your child has extra-sensory abilities, I suggest you encourage them to flourish and further develop. Otherwise, your child may begin putting up blocks and try to “turn off” this limitless energy at about 8 years old. This is the age they begin to be aware of outside opinions, and worry about being ridiculed or judged by their peers, family religious beliefs, and society.
Not all psychic abilities are the same. Just because your child may not see energy or spirits, doesn’t mean they are not psychic. Maybe they hear spirits or feel them instead. Everyone perceives information differently.
How can you help your child or teen further develop their unique psychic abilities? Practice. I often compare heightening your intuition and psychic abilities as though it is a sport, the more you train and practice, the better you get at it.
First, explain to your child having psychic abilities is something to be proud of and by normalizing their abilities, this will help them feel “normal” and not “weird.”
Second, information is power. Read and understand as a parent about intuition and psychic senses. Fear comes from the unknown, so the more you educate yourself on the subject, the more at ease you will feel answering questions with your child. I suggest reading books, blogs and taking classes when you are able.
One psychic sense you can practice with your child is telepathy, the ability to transfer thoughts, feelings and energy from one person to another. You probably have already played this game as a child yourself. It is called “guess what number I am thinking of.” Think of a number and project your thoughts onto a subject, your child. Final piece of advise parent to parent of psychic children, is make this adventure FUN! Please do not pressure your child to “perform” or be a “circus act.” I find children especially have short attention spans, and do not want to be forced into something that should just come to them naturally.
